Forum: movies Subject: Does Bell Sympatico (Canada) Throttle IA trafffic?

I have noticed that downloads of video from IA on my iMac result in my speed being throttled to a crawl - starts out at 400-500 kb/sec and within 20 seconds gets slowed to 13, always the same). I use an Airport Extreme and have a switch to share all my wired ethernet connections. The mac is the 1st device and I believe usually gets the lowest IP on my network side via DHCP.

For whatever reason, my PCs on the network do not result in the same throttling

It is now known that P2P gets throttled by Bell Canada and if you call to complain apparently the morons at customer service tell you P2P is illegal - while it CAN be, many things are legitimately shared via P2P networks.

Anyone else have similar experiences? I would think that if this is the case, it slows the servers on IA's end and results in slower results for everyone, no?
